About

Sigma Phi Omega was originally founded at the University of Southern California in 1949. It now extends ten chapters across California and Texas! The Delta Chapter at San Diego State University was founded in 1991 and was the first Asian-American organization at SDSU. Learn more about our wonderful sisterhood below.

Academics

Sigma Phi Omega places high importance on the scholarly success of our sisters. Aside from creating good academic habits within our own sisterhood, we also attend studying events with other organizations in our greek council. We encourage our sisters to be well-rounded individuals who are able to balance school with other interests.

Philanthropy

We believe it is very important to give back to the community with the sole purpose of helping others.

The National Philanthropy of Sigma Phi Omega is to raise awareness for domestic violence and sexual assault against women in the Asian community. We advocate to educate and inform others about these issues, in addition to raising money for victims of abuse. Our philanthropy events include, but are not limited to, participating in S.A.F.E. Week through fundraisers, workshops, and campaigns.

Sisterhood

We believe that a strong sisterhood is the base for a lifetime of strong friendships. Our sisters often spend time together eating good food, going on adventures, and experiencing life together. We encourage meaningful, genuine relationships and would love to bring you into our close knit sisterhood.

Social

We love to make connections within the SDSU community and beyond. Not only do we spend time with our friends in the United Sorority & Fraternity Council (USFC), but we also host socials with other Asian orgs across California. We also have an amazing alumni network who we love to hangout with and learn much from.
